The Solution
After exploring a number of suitable options, the team chose our Charity Guitar Build experience. It offered everything they were looking for. Creativity, collaboration, clear roles, shared goals and a strong sense of achievement, all wrapped up in a unique and exciting experience.
The group was split into four sub teams, each with a range of tasks that required different skills and strengths. One group focused on building real, fully working electric guitars. This involved practical problem solving, teamwork and attention to detail, with each member playing a vital role in the build process.
Another group took charge of branding. They created a band name, designed a logo, produced album cover artwork and even designed custom guitar plectrums. This encouraged creativity, discussion and collective decision making, while ensuring everyone had a voice.
Music and messaging were central to the experience. One team tackled a music based quiz, while another rewrote the lyrics to a famous song. The challenge was to weave company values, conference themes and key messages into the lyrics, ready for performance later in the session.
Throughout the room, the energy was high. The space became a hive of creative activity, with people fully immersed in their tasks and working together in new ways. Laughter, discussion and collaboration flowed naturally as teams supported each other and worked towards a shared outcome.
At the end of the session, everyone came back together. The guitars were scored, the quiz was marked and each team performed their newly written song. Winners were voted for and prizes awarded, but the real success was the shared sense of achievement and connection across the whole group.
The Outcome
The impact of the session was summed up perfectly in their five star Trustpilot review:
“Excellent guitar building session. The team enjoyed and we saw good participation with everyone throwing themselves in. There was something for everyone to get stuck into and then bring it all together into a performance at the end. Thank you to Matt, Jamie & Joe who did a great job of coordinating and running the event.”
This Charity Guitar Build was more than just a team building activity. It was a statement of intent for the year ahead. Collaborative, creative, supportive and fun.
