Our Rock and Roll Choir Team Building Event workshops can be a large or small group activity that creates harmony whilst providing loads of fun. It’s one of our most popular events, why? because its so much fun but it also really brings everyone together.

With our trained vocalists we will take the teams through some enjoyable vocal and rhythm exercises. Amidst much laughter, a journey of discovery is undertaken in which a harmonious, unified team is created. At the end they will be able to sing a popular tune as a choir group with surprisingly good results.

No previous singing experience is needed for these workshops. We choose easily accessible songs from the rock and pop world. This can be based upon the ethos of your company, a recent project, or simply chosen by us. Our choir events can run as a short ice breaker or energizer session, as well as a longer team building event which allow the delegates to write their own lyrics to a famous song which could be linked to your company or left open to their imagination.

Based outside the UK?

No problem, we have taken our events to Europe and beyond and are happy to come to you either at your chosen venue or we can even research and find a suitable venue for you.

But there is one event that we absolutely love to provide at this time of year more than any other time and that is our Make A Music Video Event.

It’s a unique experience that sees your team create their own Christmas themed music video. But they are not just responsible for producing it, they are the stars of the video!

That means they get the chance to be creative and come up with the ideas that the video will be built around. They get to design the set, choose their outfits and decide what their messaging will be through the video.

We bring the film crew and facilitators and then edit the video after the event. This creates extra legacy from the project because the whole team will watch it and share the memories long into the future.

The power of music and how it can have a positive affect on our wellbeing

World Mental Health Day

With it being world mental health day on the 10th of October we thought It would be good to find out a little bit more about how music can have a positive affect on our emotional wellbeing.

It has been said that using music within the work place can help to reduce stress and fatigue.

A few years ago researchers found that music releases dopamine, the feel good chemical in your brain. It also found that dopamine was up to 9% higher when volunteers listened to music that they enjoyed. It may be obvious to us, but it is strong evidence for the link between music and our mental wellbeing.

The charity Mind also also ran a simple survey asking people how they use music to boost their daily mood. They surveyed over a thousand people and surprisingly only a third of people use music to give them a lift when they feel down at work.

This was mainly due to people not having access to music at work or not being allowed to use it. It was suprising to find that half of the employers surveyed were not allowed to listen to music at their work station. It may also be because of the working environment just doesn’t permit it such as if you work directly with customers, or are in an open plan office where you need to communicate freely with others..

Here at Rock and Roll experience we love to listen to tunes whilst working. We like to select music depending our mood, from jazz, rock and even classical and we find it can really inspire us, lift us and generally help us work better.

Of course, there are lots of other things you can do besides playing music to manage stress, such as having a healthy diet, taking regular exercise and getting enough sleep.

Although we started out as a company that offers corporate team building and conference energisers, we get more and more requests to deliver our events at private parties as people are often looking for fresh and exciting Halloween party ideas to create the ‘wow factor’ for their guests.

And of course aroundd October people are looking for ghoulish ideas that fit the season.

We have run the Thriller dance event in houses, barns, village halls, hotels, conference centres and gardens. You name it and we’ve been there because this event only needs adequate space for the group size and a single power plug.

Thriller Dance Event

This is the perfect event f you are looking for Halloween party ideas. Here guests get to learn this famous dance, get a zombie makeover and just generally let lose having fun learning some iconic Michael Jackson moves. It’s totally inclusive no matter what the age group of ability level. It can last from 30 minutes to two hours and we have the option to include the zombie makeover or skip that part if the guests are already in fancy dress.

Halloween Party Ideas

As well as the Thriller dance event we create some very special parties each year with our live band the Right Hook. They take pride in making sure the dance floor is kept full all night. As well as being a great band we also have a totally unique after dinner event that we have created.

It’s called the rock and roll game show and it bridges the gap perfectly between dinner and evening entertainment. Here teams battle it out for prizes in a chaotic, whacky music quiz that sees your delegates on stage with the band, creating play-doh models and competing in air guitar solos. And we have a very special Halloween version that gets everyone competing in a ghoulish game show that sets them up for the dancing that will follow when the band start playing.

If you have been tasked with organising your company conference then you have a lot of different things to pull together in order to deliver a successful event.

One aspect is a conference energiser that engages and delights whilst also creating a talking point after the event.

Conference energisers are an important part of the day to keep delegates engaged.

Having fun can sometimes feel like a waste of time when there is so much to fit into a conference but most people recognise that it is actually quite the opposite.

Even the most focused and interested human minds can only cope with a relatively short amount of information being imparted to them in conference style. No matter how enthused they are at the start it won’t take long before they start to glaze over and the speaker loses impact.

And that is where the conference energiser comes in. It does what it says on the tin. It’s like an injection of energy and focus which is provided with a short session that gets the blood pumping, wakes the mind up and re-engages delegates.

How does it work?

The most common lengths for conference energiser are between 30 and 60 minutes. We can take them a little longer but usually under an hour is enough to have maximum impact without eating too much into the schedule.

We create conference energiser events that require minimal set up and pack down time so we can enter the room and leave it with minimum disruption.

The most popular times for these energiser events are in the morning, before lunch or just after lunch.

We will come in and immediately grab everyone’s attention with something different and unusual. This disrupts the norm and instantly engages them.

The session launches straight into fun which sees delegates smiling and involved. Our facilitators are expert at reaching the whole room so everybody is on board.

We run through the session which could be pure fun but could also feature your key message to create cohesiveness throughout the event.

All of our conference energiser sessions culminate in a final performance which is the climax of the session. This creates maximum impact and leaves people with great memories and a strong talking point.
