Of course you do! Well possibly anyway. But as you’ve arrived here it’s likely that you are planning a conference or corporate event and you recognise the need for team energisers.

It’s just human nature that we can only absorb a finite amount of information in one session, regardless of how fascinating the content and how brilliant the speaker.

After a period of time our eyes glaze over, our minds drift off and the event has failed to engage.

Don’t feel the need to cram so much content in that you overwhelm your delegates. That is counter productive!.

And that is where team energisers come in. They provide the injection of energy, engagement and enthusiasm that your delegates need.

Where it could be misconstrued as a waste of time and money; an exercise in needless frivolity, team energisers actually play a very serious role.

Our vocal coaches teach your delegates the harmonies for a famous rock song. Our choreographers teach the moves to the iconic Michael Jackson dance routine. We have the option to include a zombie make over or just keep you looking like humans and enjoy the energy of the dance. Using pitched percussion tubes, the boomwhacker experience shows the power of working together as we move through a fun rhythmic session which ends up as an orchestra performing a piece by Mozart. Which teambuilding songs are the best?

One of our favourite and most popular team building events is our Rock and Roll Choir. And because we deliver so many of these we have a large list of team building songs that we know work very well.

Singing is a great team building activity because it is inherently uplifting and leaves everybody feeling happy and

positive.

Building bonds between team members, improving communication, learning to work together and feeling happy are all core factors that people look for when delivering a team building event,

If you are thinking about using a singing team building session then you might want to know which team building songs are the most effective.

There are a few aspects you need to consider to create the right atmosphere for your team building event. Things that could ruin the event include:

Slow tempo
Depressing lyrics
Melancholic music

But fear not because we have over 100 years of recorded music to choose from so there are many team building songs that tick all the boxes.

What else should I think about when choosing team building songs?

You should also consider the lyrical message of the song. The music might sound uplifting but the lyrics might actually carry a very negative message which undermines the event.

We often use songs that we know work incredibly well as team building songs such as the Joe Cocker version of ‘I get by with a little help with my friends’ because it carries a great message. But other times we will use a song specifically for one event because it carries a certain message that matches that company’s ethos or the theme of their event.

Below shows an event we provided for the famous jewellers Tiffany & Co. and here we used the track ‘Breakfast at Tiffanys’ for an obvious lyrical tie in.

We also need to consider the nationally of the audience. If the event includes people from across different countries then we don’t want to choose a team building song that was a niche hit just in England because that excludes much of the audience. We want everyone in the room to be familiar with the music already so they quickly get involved with the event.

Of course, when we deliver a singing team building session our facilitators make sure everybody gets involved and engaged from the start. They have high energy, excellent communication skills and great charisma to connect with an audience and make sure it is successful. They are professional performers so they excel in this environment.

One concern that clients often have before booking this event is whether or not their whole audience will buy in to it. It’s a reasonable concern but our experience is that even the staunchest ‘non-singing’ men soon appreciate the benefit of this and get involved from the start.

Team energisers are often a crucial part of a larger corporate event such as a conference where delegates are required to stay engaged and focused over long periods of time.

No matter how wonderful, enlightening and interesting the content of the conference is, not matter how animated and engaging the speakers are, it is just human fact that our concentration is only good for relatively short periods of time.

Once we go past that stage it becomes pointless continuing because very little information will be fully understood or retained.

Conference energisers allow much more information to be learnt and understood across the event.

That is why you definitely should be looking at various team energiser ideas. On one hand you might need to get through a lot of content and taking time out for ‘fun’ might seem counter intuitive to reaching your goals.
