If we asked you to sum up your past experience of corporate team building events, do you recall them with fondness? Possibly not.

In fact many clients that we work with tell us horror stories of past experiences that were dull, uninspiring and considered a waste of time by everybody involved. And as a result they were anxious about booking the next one because they didn’t want their colleagues aiming more displeasure at them!

Many of us have been forced to spend hours participating in mind numbing activities which often fail to build stronger relationships with our colleagues. In fact they often spread frustration because we know that inbox is filling up, the ‘to do’ list is not being chipped away at and we’re wasting time being bored without seeing any real benefit.

Why Team building is so important and how it can help your business

A lot of employees wonder why team building is so important and as an employer you will always be trying to find new ways to help your staff work more efficiently. Team building events are a great way to bring people together outside their usual working environment.

So what are the classic team building events and why do employers pick certain activities? But even more importantly, how do you prepare for one so that you put on a good performance for your staff? Most employers see team building events as a way to improve working relationships between members of their teams and as a positive step to improving employee motivation. But they need to make sure they pick the right event to ensure their staff enjoy participating in the activity and that it has a positive effect on the workforce. This is why team building is so important.

Sometimes these events can involve physical exercises such as abseiling down mountains or canoeing through rapids. These are all great fun but you need to make sure everyone within the company will be up for participating in such an active event that could be out of their fitness level and comfort zone. Other times you may choose more mental challenges such as completing projects against time and scoring points with quiz’s. This is more suited to everyone’s capabilities but some may feel its not as exciting and less memorable. Our choreographers teach the moves to the iconic Michael Jackson dance routine. We have the option to include a zombie make over or just keep you looking like humans and enjoy the energy of the dance. The Beat Box Mania beat box team building event brings the energy of urban hip hop culture to your work place. Here our beat box expert facilitator introduces your delegates to the hip and happening art form of beat boxing whilst displaying the fundamental skills needed.

Once your group have been taught these skills and, amidst much laughter, got to grips with performing them they are tasked with creating their own rap over the top of their rhythms.

music video team building, team building, make a music video. pop video, rock video That’s a bold statement I know. But we stand by it. Our Make a Music Video team building event really is awesome and your team will love it just as much as every other team has enjoyed it too.

The essence of the event is that the teams design a section of the video and really make it their own. They can base their ideas on the lyrics of the song or a recent work project or anything else that fits. They think about acting, props, wardrobe and choreography. Sometimes they even record their own vocal parts.

They then rehearse it up and get ready for the shooting.

Here our professional film crew film them as they create their mind blowing. world altering music video scenes.

Once those are completed we just need the choreographed ensemble scenes to be shot and then it’s a wrap.

Whilst your guys hit the bar to share memories from that experience our film crew get to work editing the scenes to create the polished end result.

You then get to keep that finished music video so you can prolong the effectiveness of the event as your team relive it and share it with other colleagues.

That aspect makes the longevity of this event much greater so you will feel the benefits longer into the future.

What is this talk of line dancing at a conference?

You might be familiar with our popular Thriller dance event that works as a very effective conference energiser, ice breaker or team building session. But although that is one of our most popular line dancing, country, conference, ice breaker, energiser, team building events, getting down like a zombie isn’t appropriate for every occasion.

But fear not, there is more than one way to dance. And that’s why we offer our popular dance event in different genres so we can cater for your crowd.

We use the same winning format that we have used for thousands of people in the Thriller event but we tailor it to different styles. This allows us to break the ice, getting everyone engaged and on-board for some fun outside of their comfort zone. We then start learning the steps and rehearsing them up towards the big performance finale.

We have run our events for a large number of well know brands such as Mars Wrigley, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Tiffany and many more. But we also cater for smaller groups and often work with much smaller companies.

And that is the beauty of a dance or singing event in that we are using out bodies or voices so we can work with small groups up to several thousand and the event still works just as well.

Thriller Dance Event

This might seem like an odd choice but this is really popular as a Christmas event. Of course this is also very popular around October and November with the obvious Halloween connection. But we find that people wanting something different for their Christmas team building or party also love to learn this famous dance, get a zombie makeover and just generally let lose having fun learning some iconic Michael Jackson moves.

Our make a music video event is amazingly good fun and exciting whatever time of year. However, Christmas time allows us to create a Christmas themed music video with your team. What could be better? You can re-record your own lyrics for a famous Christmas hit song before planning and starring in your own music video. This creates an even bigger impact because everyone can watch the professionally edited video and share it with their friends and colleagues for years to come.

Christmas Party Entertainment

As well as the Christmas team building and energiser events we create some very special Christmas parties each year with our live band the Right Hook. They take pride in making sure the dance floor is kept full all night. As well as being a great band we also have a totally unique after dinner event that we have created.

It’s called the rock and roll game show and it bridges the gap perfectly between dinner and evening entertainment. Here teams battle it out for prizes in a chaotic, whacky music quiz that sees your delegates on stage with the band, creating play-doh models and competing in air guitar solos. And we have a very special Christmas version that gets everyone competing in a festive game show that sets them up for the dancing that will follow when the band start playing.
