Self Esteem and Team Esteem

We are all familiar with self esteem; our own opinion and perception of ourselves, but many of us pass each working day without considering our team esteem at work.

A successful team will have a good team esteem. Each individual team member will share a general positive feeling about the team and perceive it to be doing things well. A team with low team esteem will be much less effective, will experience more internal conflict, and stress levels will be higher.

Of course conflict will occur in any team but a successful team recognises conflict as a good thing. It is a welcome way to challenge their own ideas and each member is receptive to differing views from their team mates, and ready to take these ideas on board and challenge their own views. Music Creates Success

Research from Dawsons points to a link between musical ability and success in other areas of life such as work, and parenting. Yes, music creates success.

Most notable is the emphasis and importance professionals and high earners place on musical ability, and their own desire to have spent more time learning. Continue reading “Music Creates Success”

Our very own team building facilitator, Chris Sullivan, has just returned from a second string of leading vocalist performances aboard the huge P&O cruise liner Azura.

As he sailed through the Caribbean, entertaining the international crowd as they soaked up the luxury lifestyle and high quality entertainment, we’re sure he was pining to be back in the UK and working with us.

The team at Rock & Roll Experience have published a handy little guide to help those people out there who have been tasked with planning the company team building event but have no idea where to start.

If you have been asked to plan team building events in the past, or have just been asked to plan team building events in the near future, you will know the moment of fear when you realise that the options you choose could either make you the workplace hero or villain. Get it right and everyone will have an excellent, memorable day with you to thank. Get it wrong and everyone has a resentful feeling of precious time and money having been wasted because of you. Team Building – Make A Music Video

Design your own music video or recreate a famous one

This is one of our most popular music based corporate team building events. Here clients are given the chance to design, plan and perform in their own music video. In the standard package they will learn to play their instruments, write a song, and perform it on stage like a real rock band.

But as an alternative, the music video session doesn’t involve actual playing of musical instruments. Instead delegates simply mime and perform to camera.

This takes the excitement to a whole new level as they design, plan, and turn the video into a reality. Continue reading “Team Building – Make A Music Video”

Corporate Bands Emerge as Executives Turn to Music for Team-Building, Stress Relief and Fun

After a long day at the office, many executives are choosing to put in extra hours with their colleagues on the live music circuit due to a burgeoning trend of top corporations encouraging their employees to make music together.

“We’re seeing now more than ever a drive in the American workplace toward greater teamwork and team-building, not only in the boardroom but also in the formation of corporate bands,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM, the international trade association for the music products industry.  “These are groups of individuals who work hard together and then at the end of the day, they’re picking up musical instruments to blow off steam, develop stronger relationships and have fun.” Continue reading “Corporate Bands Emerge as Executives Turn to Music for Team-Building, Stress Relief and Fun”

Rock & Roll Experience Photographer performs with Bryan Adams

The very talented live band photographer, Joe Strudwick, is the man behind all the live band shots at Rock & Roll Experience. He certainly knows how to take a great photograph when other people are performing but we didn’t know whether or not he was any good at performing himself.

That was until he was picked out of the crowd at Guildford’s Magic Summer Live festival to play the part of Mel C and duet with Bryan Adams, the headline act, for the track ‘Baby When You’re Gone’. Continue reading “Rock & Roll Experience Photographer performs with Bryan Adams”
